How do you pronounce "考据|壱/雫/栞/々" in Chinese?

雫 xia4#

Japanese-made Chinese character, derived from the shape of rain falling, meaning "water droplet".
Pronounced as "しずく (shizuku)" in Japanese. (The pronunciation in the original MyGO is like this)

According to the "Chinese Pronunciation Standard for Japanese Kanji (Draft) PDF" released by the Chinese Ministry of Education:

As a Chinese and Japanese homophonic character with no Chinese semantic entry, it is phonetically approximated based on the shape and sound component "下", pronounced as "xia4".

Controversy#

In the Chinese character dictionary "Longkan Shoujian: Rain Section" compiled by the Buddhist monk Shi Xingjun during the Liao Dynasty, the pronunciation "na3" of this character is included, but its meaning is unclear. (Fanqie annotation)

Moreover, this character can also be used as a variant of "霞" with the pronunciation "xia2", but the character form is slightly different.

The author believes that in the original text, "雫" refers to the meaning of raindrops, so the Chinese pronunciation should be "xia4" based on the sound, meaning, and form of Japanese kanji. Although the Chinese character "na3" already has a pronunciation, it lacks a semantic entry, making it impossible to compare the meanings of these two characters. The meanings of these two characters may not be the same, and the variant character "xia2" has long been discontinued.

In Japanese, the existence of the reading "ダ (da)" for "雫" may be related to the Chinese pronunciation "na3", but in the original text, it represents the meaning represented by the reading "しずく".

Supplement: The sound reading is the simultaneous introduction of the Chinese character sound and meaning into Japanese, while the phonetic reading is the first pronunciation of a native Japanese word, and then assigning one or more Chinese characters that can represent the concept of this pronunciation (only borrowing the meaning of the Chinese characters, not the sound). For example, "しずく" can be phonetically read as "雫" and "滴" in Chinese characters.

In the Pinyin input method for Chinese, you can only use "na3" to input "雫" (because this is a Chinese input method, based on the traditional Chinese pronunciation of Chinese characters)

栞 kan1#

Variant character of the Chinese character "刊", same as "".

Japan's "List of Commonly Used Kanji" is a recommended plan and is not mandatory. Many literary works will use variant characters and old character forms.

#

Chinese character iteration mark (yori-ji), no longer used in modern Chinese, but still retained in Japanese, pronounced by repeating the pronunciation of the previous Chinese character.
For example, "迷路日々" is pronounced as "迷路日日".
