After the final exams, I can finally take a rest (although it's only for a few days (laughs). The grades are good, so it should be a good year. The other day, I tinkered with the old laptop at home and turned it into a small server. I might write a simple introduction later. Today, I rewrote About This Site and Me and Friend Links. If you want to know more about us, you can take a look. I think it's still quite descriptive and vivid. If I have time, I'll post something else. There are still many things I want to write and do, all waiting for me.
Continued from New Starting Point, Hello, xLog!, the reasons are clear. It's more convenient here, and saves money. Honestly, I rarely browse xLog's homepage or interact with other bloggers, nor have I participated in any official activities. My contribution to the community is close to zero (or even negative).
For me, this is just a place to post articles online, but as such, it does a really good job. At least for me, it's much simpler and more convenient than WordPress. Although logging in is still inconvenient and some functions are not perfect or missing, it's good enough.
Furthermore, the biggest impact on me is that what I write here will be displayed on xLog's homepage by default. On the one hand, this has brought me an unexpected wave of traffic. On the other hand, not everything can be posted on the website—although the previous website was indexed by major search engines, it was mainly visited by friends who knew my URL.
This has its pros and cons. In a sense, it has forced me to upgrade and transform my site—from the previous QQ space-like platform for venting and complaining, to a more conventional and stereotypical blog site.
However, it's not something I can't accept. Let's just let things return to their original state there. I'll have to work harder in the future!
