Check the effect of vertical text orientation

Implementation#

Latin letters need to be inserted here, so we temporarily use horizontal arrangement;

Known conditions:

  • The Markdown syntax used by xLog is compatible with HTML
  • xLog supports single-page custom CSS, with a higher priority than global styles

The code is as follows:
(Set the text direction from top to bottom, from right to left; and set the block length automatically)

<style>
.sp {
  writing-mode: vertical-rl;
}
</style>

<div class="sp">

Write here

</div>

Display#

First of all, don't forget to set full-width Chinese punctuation and "straight quotes", as Western punctuation is not well supported in vertical writing.

Use Chinese numerals more, as Arabic numerals do not display well (1145141919810)

Chinese characters and their derived writing systems (such as kana, proverbs, etc.) mostly support vertical writing natively.

Let's have a section? 【For demonstration only】

"Men and women, looking back on a lifetime, may meet within a room or in the world. They may entrust their hearts to each other, or wander outside. Although their choices vary greatly, their calmness and restlessness differ, when they are happy with what they encounter, temporarily satisfied within themselves, blissfully content, not knowing that old age is approaching. When they become weary of their pursuits, emotions change with circumstances, and they are moved by feelings." - Traditional Chinese "Preface to the Orchid Pavilion Collection"

"The Japanese people, desiring lasting peace and deeply aware of the noble ideals that govern human relationships, have resolved to maintain our security and survival, relying on the justice and integrity of the peace-loving nations. " - Modern Japanese "Constitution of Japan"

"Let's go through our whole lives without leaving behind love, honor, or a name, the fervent oath of comradeship is nowhere to be found, only the flag flutters until the new day comes, let's not waver, even as time passes, the mountains and rivers remain unchanged." - Korean proverb "Song of Gwangju"

In addition, the Old Uyghur script is also native and exclusively supports vertical writing (such as traditional Mongolian and Manchu scripts), but is written from left to right.
