See the effect of vertical text arrangement.

Implementation#

Here, many Latin letters need to be inserted, so we will use horizontal layout for now;

Known conditions:

  • The Markdown syntax used by xLog is partially compatible with HTML
  • xLog supports custom CSS for single pages, with higher priority than global styles

The code is as follows:
(Set text direction from top to bottom, right to left; and automatic block length)

<style>
.sp {
  writing-mode: vertical-rl;
}
</style>

<div class="sp">

Write here

</div>

Display#

First, don't forget to set full-width Chinese punctuation and "corner quotes", Western punctuation basically does not support vertical layout.

Use Chinese numerals more often; Arabic numerals also do not display well (1145141919810)

Chinese characters and their derived writing systems (such as Kana, Hangul, etc.) mostly natively support vertical layout.

Shall we have a paragraph? 【For demonstration only】

"The interaction of the lady and gentleman, looking up and down for a lifetime, sometimes taking from their hearts, speaking within the same room. Sometimes due to entrusted matters, wandering outside their forms. Although choices are vastly different, tranquility and restlessness are not the same, when they are pleased with what they encounter, temporarily gaining for themselves, feeling content, they have never realized that old age is approaching. When they become weary of their destination, feelings change with circumstances, they are filled with emotion." — Traditional Chinese 'Lantingji Xu'

"The Japanese people, wishing for eternal peace, deeply recognize the noble ideals that govern human relationships, and have resolved to rely on the justice and faith of peace-loving nations to maintain our safety and existence." — Modern Japanese 'Charter of Peace'

"Let us live a lifetime without leaving behind love, honor, or name; the passionate vow of comrades is nowhere to be found, only the flag flutters. Until a new day comes, let us not waver. Time flows, but the mountains and rivers know." — Korean Hangul 'Song of Gwangju'

In addition, the Uighur script is also natively and only supports vertical layout (like traditional Mongolian and Manchu), but is written from left to right.

"      " — Traditional Mongolian 'Constitution of China'
